Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles HeroClix – Rat King

Greetings HeroClix fans!

I hope you’re ready because we’ve got another exciting preview from the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles HeroClix set! It’s… some guy who likes rats? Oh the Rat King!

TMNT1 029 Rat king

From the swamps comes a classic villain from the original Mirage Comics universe, Rat King. At 65 points, and 7 clicks of life – what he lacks in offensive firepower he more than makes up for in special powers and traits. First, Rat King possesses Improved Movement: Ignores Hindering Terrain, as well as two traits. The first, called All Fear Me… All Except the Rats, states that at the beginning of your turn, if Rat King occupies or is adjacent to hindering terrain, place adjacent a Giant Rat Bystander if there are less than 4 on the map.

The Giant Rat Bystander Token deserves a closer look as well. He only has one standard power with Sidestep, but his special power on Damage really lends itself well to the swarm-like nature of what the rat spawning Rat King can do on the right map. The special power, called Swarm of Rats, states that if Giant Rat is adjacent to one or more friendly bystander with the same name, modify its damage value by +1. If it’s adjacent to two or more of them, also modify it’s attack value by +1!

Switching gears back to Rat King, his second trait is called Strange Spectral Guide, that says when Rat King is KO’d, you may equip him to a friendly character with the Animal keyword. The equipped character can use Probability Control – and, if the equipped character is named Splinter, he can use Regeneration!

For standard powers, Rat King possesses Stealth, Super Senses, Toughness, Regeneration, Exploit Weakness, and Probability Control. To go along with that, he also has a special power called Rat Trap that appears on his Attack. This power states that you may give Rat King a power action once per game, and choose an opposing character within 4 squares and line of fire. Once you do, you may place up to 4 Giant Rat bystanders adjacent to that character!

That’s it for today, HeroClix fans! We hope you’ve enjoyed looking to the world of the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles HeroClix set. The set will release soon, and we can’t wait for you to see it in action!  Until next time!
