HeroClix by Wizkids Games

Greetings WizKids Fans!

With just one week to go until gamers converge upon the Columbus Convention Center for the 2013 Origins Game Fair, we wanted to touch base with everyone regarding our presence at the show.

Folk interested in purchasing the 2013 Marvel HeroClix: Shuma Gorath and/or the 2013 DC HeroClix: Trinity of Sin team base will be able to do so beginning Thursday morning. Purchases will be limited to up to two each for Shuma Gorath and/or the Trinity of Sin per customer, per day. We will be punching badges to ensure fairness in the process, and transactions will be cash only; everyone interested in purchasing these figures can help us by having exact change and their badge ready for punching to ensure the lines move smoothly.

If our daily allotment allows, we may open sales up later in the day to allow for additional purchases in the afternoon (we will announce daily if we’re going to open these up for additional purchases, so please do not ask throughout the day, chances are we won’t know for sure when you happen to ask). As a reminder, Shuma Gorath will be available for $50, and the Trinity of Sin team base will be $25.

WizKids Games will also be set up to offer the MEGA-sized Star Trek Attack Wing demos in cooperation with Alliance Games Distributors throughout the weekend! Take a moment and play with MEGA-sized versions of the starships that will be available in Star Trek Attack Wing; roll MEGA-sized dice and position your ships with MEGA-sized maneuver templates! Join us for a fun, MEGA-sized time!

If tabletop demos are more your speed, join us in the WIzKids area for demos of Star Trek Attack Wing, Trains and Stations, and more! We will be offering demos throughout the show for these new and upcoming games.

For everyone interested in the HeroCix Nationals event: we will be contacting all of the reported Winners of the local WES 2013 National Qualifier in Your Store events. We will also be contacting stores (and their associated volunteers) that scheduled a Qualifier event but have not reported their winner yet to remind them to get that info to us. If you won your store’s event and do not receive an email from us by Saturday, 8 June, please contact the store your won the event at (or the volunteer if applicable), so they can report and verify your entry for HeroClix Nationals.

Another year, another summer season starts, and another convention season is about to begin again. WizKids and HeroClix return to Origins Game Fair on June 13-16, 2013. Players will have the chance to play in many tourneys at Origins this year between HeroClix Nationals, Battle Royales, a DC HeroClix: Teen Titans SuperBooster event, and many other events. These events at Origins will be the first WizKids run events that will use the new HeroClix 2013 Rulebook and Powers and Abilities Card and the exciting changes included within them.

HeroClix Nationals returns to Origins with a new format. Players can qualify for the HeroClix Nationals finals before Origins by playing in a WizKids 2013 National Qualifier in your store (more on this in another article today). Once at Origins, players who didn’t qualify in their store can test their mettle against other players in a sealed event on Thursday where the top 8 players will qualify for the National Finals on Saturday. If you don’t make it on Thursday, you have a second chance on Friday to qualify. Can you battle it out with the other players and emerge victorious? Win the HeroClix National Finals and claim the top prize of designing an Additional Team Ability, a badge to Gen Con, a place in the HeroClix World’s Finals on Saturday at GenCon as well as additional prizes. Do you have what it takes to be the HeroClix National Winner?

In addition to all of these tourneys, you can now enjoy demos and purchase product in the WizKids area as well at Origins. Do you want to claim the city of Gotham for your own? Then demo the Batman: Gotham Strategy City Game. Want to bring home a tentacled new friend, then purchase the Marvel HeroCilx convention exclusive, Shuma Gorath! And depending on shipping times, we may also have an additional for-sale convention exclusive at Origins, the as-of-yet unrevealed DC HeroClix convention exclusive! Stay tuned for more announcements on this as we get closer to Origins!

In the coming weeks, we’ll talk about the special LE prizes for these events and also update all of you on the GenCon list of events. Can you Battle it out and emerge the victor or will you suffer Defeat?

Origins 2013 Event Descriptions

DC HeroClix Battle Royale: Interested in fast and furious HeroClix play? Want to prove you’re the best no matter what team you draft? Then this event is for you! The DC HeroClix Battle Royales will be offered in four-player pods and will utilize boosters from a DC HeroClix expansion. The winner will receive a 2013 DC Convention Limited Edition figure (TBA) as a prize.
