Marvel HeroClix: Superior Foes of Spider-Man- Power Man & Iron Fist

Greetings HeroClix Fans!

For today’s Marvel HeroClix: Superior Foes of Spider-Man preview, we look at a pair of Heroes for Hire whose personalities and fighting styles differ in many ways, but also complement one another.  Please welcome Luke Cage and Daniel Rand, better known as Power Man & Iron Fist!

Marvel HeroClix: Superior Foes of Spider-Man- Power Man & Iron Fist

As we mentioned, Power Man & Iron Fist have different fighting styles, with Power Man being the streetwise brawler and Iron Fist as the disciplined martial artist.  Yet somehow our heroes manage to work together effectively to overcome the odds.  To capture this harmonious clash of styles, Power Man & Iron Fist come into play with a trait called Martial Arts or Street Smarts? which lets you change their dial to suit your current needs.  The first six clicks of Power Man & Iron Fist’s dial have red click numbers to represent Iron Fist; the last six clicks have blue numbers and represent Power Man.  At the beginning of your turn, you may turn Power Man & Iron Fist’s dial to the same click number of the other color.  Additionally, when Power Man & Iron Fist is on a red click number, they can use Combat Reflexes; when they’re on a blue click number, they can use Super Strength.

Moving beyond the Martial Arts or Street Smarts? trait, Power Man & Iron Fist’s dial features power sets that accurately capture their fighting styles.  Iron Fist starts his side of the dial with Sidestep, Super Senses and Exploit Weakness and ends with Flurry and Precision Strike, while  Power Man begins with Charge, Quake and Invulnerability and ends with Toughness and Close Combat ExpertPower Man & Iron Fist have the standard speed, attack and damage combat symbols, along with the Indomitable defense symbol to let them ignore pushing damage.

Power Man & Iron Fist has a point value of 50, which leaves you plenty of room to include teammates.  For themed team play, Power Man & Iron Fist has the Avengers, Heroes for Hire and Marvel Knights keywords to help you find just the right teammates.  As close combatants, Power Man & Iron Fist would benefit from having teammates on their force that can shoot.  Characters that can use the Carry ability would also be a boon to Power Man & Iron Fist as they can transport the pair around the battle map.

Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron- Iron Fist, Luke Cage & Jewel

Greetings HeroClix fans, and welcome to an exciting three-part preview for the upcoming Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron Storyline OP Booster Brick 2! Today, we’re looking at three figures, united by friendship and familial bonds – Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Jewel!

Iron Fist comes in at 100 points with 7 clicks of life. He brings a smattering of powers to the fray, including Flurry, Precision Strike, Super Senses, Regeneration, and Exploit Weakness, amongst others. He also comes with a trait called Reading My Opponent Like a Book, which increases Iron Fist’s defensive value by +1 when he’s targeted with a close combat attack. Along with that trait, he has a special movement power on his opening two and closing two clicks called Luke Goes Through…I Go Over! which allows him the usage of Leap/Climb. In addition to that, when Iron Fist resolves a move action and has moved 4 squares or less, he can then make a close combat attack as a free action!

Next up we have Power Man himself, Luke Cage! This indomitable Hero for Hire can be played at 125 points, and has 7 clicks of life, with damage reducers all the way down his dial. Luke can also use powers like Sidestep, Flurry, Super Strength, Quake, and Leadership, along with several other powers. He also has a special move power, the opposite of Iron Fist called Danny Goes Over…I Go Through! This power grand Luke Cage the ability to use Improved Movement – Ignores Hindering Terrain, Ignores and Destroys Blocking Terrain. In addition to that, whenever Luke resolves a move action and has moved 4 squares or fewer, he can also make a close combat attack as a free action. Along with that, Luke Cage also has a trait called Mighty Avengers, which increases his defensive value by +1 for each other friendly character within 4 squares that can use the trait of the same name.

Finally, we come to Luke’s wife, Jewel! Jewel is playable at either 60 points with 5 clicks of life, or 25 points with 2 clicks of life. Jewel is a flyer, and with her 60-point dial representing her time as a costumed adventurer, has some solid powers. She opens with Charge, Invulnerability and a special power called Might and Determination. This power grants Jewel the ability to use Super Strength, as well as stating that whenever she uses an object during a close combat attack and hits, you may choose to place the targeted character in a square adjacent to Jewel after actions resolve. On her final two clicks, she’s in her Jessica Jones identity as an investigator. Here, she has Earthbound/Neutralized and Willpower as standard powers, with a special power called Not a Hero, Just a Detective Now, granting Jewel the use of both Outwit and Stealth. She packs a major punch at such a small cost for both of her dials!

Luke Cage and Iron Fist can form the backbone of Heroes for Hire themed team or you can add in Jewel to create an Avengers themed team. Of course, these are just a few options for adding these three great figures to your next HeroClix game.

That’s it for today, ‘Clix fans! See you next time with more exciting looks into the Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron Storyline OP event!

Marvel HeroClix: Fear Itself Preview

Marvel HeroClix Fear Itself: Iron Fist!

Greetings Heroclix Fans!

Today we will continue our previews of the Marvel Heroclix : Fear Itself set with a double dose of Iron Fist!

007 Iron Fist

Iron Fist has an improved movement power called Master of K’un Lun which allows him to ignore elevated, hindering terrain, and other characters for movement purposes. Iron Fist has a special defensive power called Immortal Weapon of Agamotto which lets Iron Fist use Combat Reflexes and Super Senses. Iron Fist also had a special damage power called The Iron Fist which says Iron Fist can use Close Combat Expert. When he does and has no action tokens, if his attack is at least 2 greater than his target’s defense value, modify his damage value by an additional +1.

Iron Fist’s dial starts with these two special powers as well as Charge. Iron Fist has Charge most of his dial though at the middle of his dial he loses the special powers and gains Willpower and Exploit Weakness instead. Iron Fist’s last two clicks have Regeneration, allowing him to possibly heal back up to his second click. Iron Fist is an 80 point close combat beast.

018 Iron Fist

We also have The Mighty version of Iron Fist. One of the first differences you will notice between The Mighty version of Iron Fist and the normal Iron Fist is that The Mighty version has Flight, Indomitable, and a range value of 4. Also The Mighty Version of Iron Fist is 94 points, which is 14 points more.  Iron Fist’s dial also starts out with a special attack power called Mighty Hammer and Chain which says Give Iron Fist a power action, choose an opposing character within range and line of fire, and roll a d6. If the d6 result is higher than the number of squares to that character, you may place that character in a square adjacent to Iron Fist. On any result, you may then make a close combat attack. This allows Iron Fist to move character in closer before he hits them, which will be helpful if you can’t move Iron Fist close enough with Telekinesis or if you just want to place a character where another friendly character can blast away at them.

Iron Fist’s dial also starts out with Charge, Combat Reflexes, and Close Combat Expert. Mid Dial Iron Fist gets Super Senses and Quake. Also on click 5 Iron Fist has a special damage power called Mighty Revert: Iron Fist which, when it is shown, has you stop clicking the dial. It also allows you to give Iron Fist a free action to replace him with a figure with the same name and a lesser point value on the same click. It also gives the new character +1 attack and damage for the rest of the game, and the power cannot be ignored.

Marvel HeroClix: Fear Itself events are available in many stores across the globe.  Be sure to check out the WizKids Event System and find a store hosting an event near you!

That concludes our preview for today, please keep checking for more previews from Marvel Heroclix: Fear Itself set. Until next time, keep Charging on in!
