Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Fast Force Part 2

Published on August 3rd, 2015

Agents, Hydra terrorists have the world gripped with fear about where they might strike next.  It’s time to introduce you to the rest of the Field Team and take the fight to them!

Welcome once again to an exciting look into the espionage filled world of the upcoming Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. set! Today, we’re going to show you the last 3 figures in the Fast Forces pack for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., that can be put together to form a quick team that you can play straight out of the box!

Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.- Nick Fury, Jr.

First up is none other than the head honcho’s son, Nick Fury Jr.  Nick has 2 starting lines for your team building pleasure, coming in at 75 and 50 points.  It’s likely that Nick Fury Sr. has several kids around the globe but Junior has Infinity Formula in his blood so he can follow in his father’s footsteps; this is represented on his ‘Clix by Indomitable.  Nick is the perfect companion for Agent Coulson thanks to his trait Me and Cheese, from Afghanistan to S.H.I.E.L.D. which gives them both +1 attack when they are adjacent to each other.  With his 75-point dial, Nick begins the fight with Running Shot, a healthy 11 attack value, Toughness, and 3 damage with Figure Out How You’re Doing That, and Stop It.  This special ability allows you to choose a power or team ability from a character Nick Fury Jr. has damaged and prevent that character from using it until the next turn.  On his 50-point dial, Nick Fury Jr. has a more hands-on approach of attacking with Charge, Blades/Claws/Fangs, Combat Reflexes, and his powercancelling special power.  Towards the end of his dial, Nick tries to sneak away from the fight to benefit from his Infinity Formula enhanced healing with Sidestep and Penetrating/Psychic Blast on click 5, and Stealth on click 6; both clicks have Regeneration.

Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.- Skye

Joining the team is one of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s newest recruits and computer specialist, SkyeSkye is the fourth figure in this Fast Forces Pack to possess the Field Team Backup trait.  When Skye is attacking a single target, she can use Probability Control, but only if another friendly character with this trait can also draw line of fire to Skye’s target.  Clocking in at 50 points, Skye starts as an underdog; hiding in Stealth, with Energy Shield/Deflection to protect her if her cover is blown.   She has a special attack power called Trained With a Sniper Rifle, granting her the use of Range Combat Expert with a Range Value of 7.  After 2 clicks of distance shooting, she drops her rifle and exchanges it for her laptop, slipping into a disruption/support role with Deadlier With a Laptop which forces opposing characters within her line of fire to take a Power Action in order to use Outwit or Perplex.  She also has Precision Strike to keep her dangerous, and Toughness to keep her around a little longer than her 6 clicks and 50 points would suggest.

Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.- Simmons

Finishing off the Field Team is the other half of our scientist duo, Simmons.   With 4 clicks and a total of 50 points, Simmons fills an almost strictly supporting role, yet your enemies would be foolish to underestimate her potential.  She is the last character in the Fast Forces pack to possess the Field Team Backup trait, which works just like Skye’s. Simmons can even use Probability Control if another friendly character with the trait can see her target, just like Skye.  She has a mix of Sidestep, Stealth, Energy Shield/Deflection, and Incapacitate to keep her away from the enemy, but where she really excels is with her damage special, Neutralization SerumSimmons can also use Outwit, and if given a Power Action while a friendly character that shares her S.H.I.E.L.D. or Scientist keyword is in her line of fire, that character can also use Outwit that turn.  That’s 2 Outwits for the price of one!

With Agent Coulson, Agent May, Fitz, and H.E.N.R.Y., the group of Field Team experts has been completed.  Now assemble your team!

300 points S.H.I.E.L.D. Theme Bonus = +5 to map roll, 3 Theme Team Probability Control

  • Nick Fury Jr. 75
  • Agent Coulson 75
  • Skye 50
  • Fitz 50
  • Simmons 50

Nick Fury Jr. and Agent Coulson can boost each other’s attack values and range values as they run into the fight with guns blazing.  Fitz can place Skye in sniping position with his Telekinesis and push onto his Perplex special so he can use the Perplex ability and share it with a friendly character, just as Simmons can share her Outwit.  This team is loaded with support powers; 2 Outwits from Simmons, one from Coulson if he lands mid-dial, a modified power-cancelling ability from Nick Fury Jr., two Perplexes from Fitz, and Empower and Enhancement from Fitz’s buddy, H.E.N.R.Y. Everyone has the S.H.I.E.L.D. TA to increase range values and damage values when adjacent, and everyone but Nick has Probability Control under certain circumstances; Nick himself can make use of the Theme Team Probability rolls.

There are more than just these five characters from the Fast Forces pack with the Field Team Backup.  Other figures in the main Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. set will also possess the trait among a bunch of other useful spy gadgets and goodies.  Keep an eye out for more previews from the upcoming set!

That concludes today’s briefing, this message is for your eyes only. Destroy all traces of its existence after reading, and prepare for S.H.I.E.L.D. Field Team deployment. Until next time, stay safe, agents. Hydra’s operatives are everywhere.
