Greetings HeroClix Fans!
Today we delve into the dark lands of Mordor to bring you our latest Lord of the Rings HeroClix preview! We’re spotlighting one of Sauron’s most feared and deadly lieutenants, the Black Rider!
The Black Rider begins play with his aptly named Wraith on Wings special power. Wraith on Wings allows the Black Rider to use Stealth (helpful for hiding in the shadows of Middle Earth), Phasing/Teleport, and the Carry ability. As if that weren’t useful enough, when the Black Rider uses the Carry abiilty he may carry up to two characters if they share a Keyword with him, or four characters if they all have the Nazgul keyword! Talk about battlefield mobiity!
Early-dial Quake allows the Black Rider to attack multiple foes in close combat at once, demonstrating its deadliness in melee while Invulnerability helps to protect it from harm. Mid-to late dial the Black Rider switches tactics and pursues one opponent at a time with Blades/Claws/Fangs, increasing his potential damage to as much as 6!
At 100 points with fairly consistent combat values, the Black Rider is a very useful mobility piece for your teams, as well as an effective secondary or tertiary attacker. However, where the Black Rider will really shine will be its ability to maneuver your pieces around the battlefiield to maximize your team’s combat effectiveness!
That’s all we have for today, but be sure to check in with us later this week as we continue to explore the dark realms of Mordor!
