Galactic Guardians Heroclix Preview

Two Sides of the Same Coin!

Greetings HeroClix Fans!

For today’s Marvel HeroClix: Galactic Guardians sneak peak, we visit a member of the Infinity Watch and Guardians of the Galaxy with a dual personality! First, let’s take a look at Adam Warlock!

On more than one occasion, Adam Warlock has seemingly come from out of nowhere to save the universe. To represent his knack for being at the right place at the right time, he has Running Shot on his first two clicks. As a cosmic spell caster, he also has Penetrating/Psychic Blast on those same two clicks.

Adam Warlock has been the caretaker of the Soul Gem and has even temporarily possessed the mighty Infinity Gauntlet. To show this boost of power, Adam Warlock switches from Running Shot to Hypersonic Speed for two clicks! He then gains two clicks of Phasing/Teleport.

The being also known simply as “Him” is no stranger to interstellar combat and has battled against the likes of Man-Beast, Thanos, and even Thor! In order to stand toe-to-toe with such powerful beings, Adam Warlock has Pulse Wave on the back half of his dial.

Defensively, Adam Warlock can initially absorb big hits early on by using Invulnerability. Mid-dial, he then switches to Toughness. Occasionally, Adam Warlock requires some healing. To aid him in this endeavor, Adam Warlock has two clicks of Regeneration at the end of his dial.

Mystery surrounds Adam Warlock wherever he goes. It’s only fitting then, that he has Perplex for the front half of his dial and Probability Control on the back half!

Adam Warlock clocks in at 165 points, has a range of eight, and has the Defenders team ability. He has the Infinity Watch and Guardians of the Galaxy keywords and can also be used on teams that share the Cosmic and Mystical generic keywords.

To top things off, Adam Warlock has a trait called He Is Me, And I Am Him. If Adam Warlock takes damage from an opposing character, after that action resolves he can be replaced with #020 Magus on the same click number!

Speaking of Adam Warlock’s dastardly counterpart, let’s take a closer look at Magus!

Magus hits the battle map with a trait called He Is Nothing, and I Am Everything. Whenever Magus is healed of damage, after that action resolves he can be replaced with #010 Adam Warlock on the same click number!

Magus comes in at 165 points, has a range of eight, and has the Power Cosmic team ability! Like Adam Warlock, he has the Cosmic keyword. However, he also has the Deity, Ruler, and Universal Church of Truth keywords since he’s the head of that intergalactic religious empire.

Manipulative and always scheming, Magus prefers the shadows. This is represented by Stealth on the front half of his dial. He is also has Telekinesis and Penetrating/Psychic Blast to go with those Stealth clicks.

Sometimes, a deity has to take matters into his own hands. Mid-dial, Magus switches from Stealth to Charge in order to rush into combat! He then ditches Charge for Phasing/Teleport when it’s time to either retreat or reload. When Magus “reloads,” however, he does so by using the Steal Energy power on the back half of his dial!

Mastermind on Magus’ first click allow him to redirect damage to the beings he considers lesser than himself. When he’s off his first click, Magus can shrug off most of the damage dealt to him by using Invulnerability. He then regains Mastermind for two clicks before switching to Regeneration!

As the Universal Church of Truth’s object of worship, Magus possesses a special power on his first two clicks. The power, I Am Their Deity, allows him to use Exploit Weakness and Leadership. Mid-dial, he switches to regular use of Exploit Weakness. On the back half of Magus’ dial he gains two clicks of Outwit!

We hope you enjoyed today’s preview! Join us next time as we visit with an ally of the Guardians of the Galaxy who definitely qualifies for the senior discount at his local waffle house. Until then, may all your clix stay off their KOs!
