Today we continue our spotlight on the minions of the White Hand with a fierce tracker charged with delivering Merry and Pippin to Saruman. We’re talking about none other than the Uruk Hai commander, Ugluk!
Ugluk begins play maneuvering onto the battlefield unhindered by both terrain and opposing figures thanks to Leap/Climb. Position Ugluk adjacent to an opposing figure and he provides a nice tie-up opportunity for your force thanks to additional protection from close combat attacks courtesy of Combat Reflexes throughout his dial!
Ugluk’s Instructions from the Eye special power also allows him to use Perplex. While Instructions from the Eye specifies that Ugluk’s Perplex must target another friendly character, it still allows him to add a bit of help (or harm depending on how one looks at it) where most needed from turn to turn.
Lastly, towards the end of his dial Ugluk picks up Steal Energy as he makes some “field command” decisions regarding rations.
At only 40 points, Ugluk makes a great support piece for your Forces of Sauron team build. His combination of Perplex, maneuverability and Combat Reflexes makes him a great tactical piece at a low cost for theme teams and non-theme teams alike!
