Marvel HeroClix: The Amazing Spider-Man Preview

Marvel HeroClix Amazing Spider-Man: Electro!

Greetings HeroClix Fans!

Welcome back as we bring you another electrifying preview from the upcoming Marvel HeroClix: Amazing Spider-Man set!   Today we look at one of Spider-Man’s earliest foes, and a member of many villainous groups attempting to take out the Spider, Electro!

021-Electro

Electro begins play with a special power in his movement slot called Travel Through the Wires, that allows him to be given a power action to be placed in the square of an unheld object anywhere on the map.   This can allow Electro to quickly get across the map to set up to attack your opponent, or quickly retreat to an object placed just outside your starting area to get back to a healer.  This power will again appear on the last click of Electro’s dial.  Pairing nicely with the +1 modifier to defense against range combat attacks that the object will provide is a full dial of Energy Shield Deflection, giving Electro an additional +2 modifier against range attacks.

Electro has another special power on all but last click called Arc Lightning.  This special power states “Give Electro a power action and make a ranged combat attack against a single target using his printed damage value.  Each time he hits, after actions resolve, he may make a ranged combat attack as a free action against another single target as if he occupied the previously hit character’s square, replacing his range value minus the number of characters he has hit this turn with this power.”   This power gives Electro the ability to hit multiple opposing figures, or bounce back and forth between two figures adjacent to each other and himself, using his Sharpshooter combat ability.

Electro also possesses an array of attack powers to go with his printed 7 range and two targets.  He starts his dial with a click of Penetrating/Psychic Blast to be able to ignore damage reducers on one or two opposing figures.  Next is a click of Energy Explosion, allowing him to deal damage to clusters of foes.  And last is a click of Pulse Wave, allowing him to ignore all damage reducers and avoiders to everyone within 4 squares.  On the back half of his dial, this cycle of powers repeats itself.

Electro can be included on theme teams that include the Emissaries of Evil, Frightful Four, and Sinister Syndicate keywords.  Electro can share his attack values, or borrow better one from friendly adjacent figures sharing his Sinister Syndicite  team ability.  At  82 points, there is plenty of room to add other figures on a force where his range combat abilities will be useful.

That’s all for today.  Be sure to check back again soon as we continue to preview figures from the upcoming Marvel HeroClix: Amazing Spider-Man set!
