Greetings HeroClix Fans!
For today’s Batman: Gotham City Strategy Game preview we visit a foe of the Caped Crusader who is deadly on land and in the water. Please welcome Killer Croc!
Coming into play at 82 points, Killer Croc hits the battle map with a Trait that plays off his status as one of Batman’s more primal and physically intimidating foes. With A Force To Be Reckoned With, opposing characters within four squares can’t use Willpower.
Killer Croc has the Swim movement ability and begins his dial with Charge as he goes for his opponent’s jugular. Charge is paired with Super Strength in his attack slot, allowing Killer Croc to close the distance between him and an opponent while bludgeoning his foe with an object. Defensively, Killer Croc’s reptilian hide (Toughness) protects him from harm.
Once Killer Croc is off his top click, Super Strength remains but he drops Charge in favor of a special power that represents a deadly reptilian combo attack! With Claw, Claw, Bite, Killer Croc can use Flurry. When he does and one character takes damage from both close combat attacks, after actions resolve he may be given a free action to make a close combat attack using Blades/Claws/Fangs against the same target. Claw, Claw, Bite remains on Killer Croc’s dial for three clicks.
Mid-dial, Killer Croc picks up regular use of Blades/Claw/Fangs as he fights tooth and nail. Killer Croc is arguably at his deadliest point on the dial as Blades/Claw/Fangs can be used with the Flurry granted by Claw, Claw, Bite!
Moving onto the back end of Killer Croc’s dial, Blades/Claws/Fangs remains for two more clicks and he drops Claw, Claw, Bite in favor of regular use of Flurry. Defensively, he loses Toughness but one click later gains Willpower to show that he is enraged!
The Batman Enemy team ability should come in handy as Killer Croc shares his attack values – none of which dip below 10 – with other friendly adjacent figures using the same team ability. Killer Croc’s damage values are just as consistent, never dipping below 3 except on his last two Blades/Claws/Fangs clicks.
Killer Croc’s trait, special power and consistent combat values make him a great addition to many HeroClix teams. The Animal, Arkham Asylum, and Brute keywords should help focus their theme-team building strategies.
Like the other four exclusive figures featured in this release, Killer Croc employs SwitchClix technology. This allows you to play Killer Croc as a HeroClix tabletop game piece or as part of the Batman: Gotham City Strategy Game!
