Greetings HeroClix Fans!
Our latest preview spotlights another character who has served as a member of the Justice Society. The great-grandson of FDR (who presided over the formation of the JSA), we are pleased to present to you all, Magog!
This isn’t the Magog we’re familiar with from the now-classic Kingdom Come storyline, but rather just shortly after he first gained his enhanced powers (a gift from Gog, a survivor of the Third World). At 85 points, Magog is a pretty solid secondary attacker for your force. Early-dial Phase/Teleport lets Magog position himself wherever he can best attack his enemy, while Penetrating/Psychic Blast allows him to disregard those pesky damage-reducing powers when he makes a ranged combat attack against his foes. Invulnerability and then Toughness both help protect Magog from retaliatory attacks while mid- to late-dial Willpower demonstrates Magog’s determination to seek justice!
Also mid-dial, we see Magog get more aggressive as he switches tactics from Penetrating/Psychic Blast to Close Combat Expert, preferring to pummel his foes into submission. Late-dial Magog picks up Charge and Exploit Weakness (always a handy combination!) as he manuevers into the melee!
Magog’s consistent combat values makes him a well-balanced addition to your force. While his defensive values may be average at best, his JSA team ability allows Magog to share the defense values of other friendly Justice Society team members. (like Shazam from the Brave and the Bold or Green Lantern from DC 75th Anniversary!).
That’s all we have for today, but be sure to join us next week as we spotlight even more characters from DC HeroClix: Superman, as well as all of the exciting news from GenCon!
