Continuing our introductions of the Convention Exclusives that will be available for you to win in February during the Winter 2017 WizKids Open, we have the most epic combination of super hero powers in one flame fueled package; the Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk!
This big beautiful behemoth is what happens when Flash Thompson and Alejandra Blaze pass their super power granting possessions, the Venom Symbiote and the Spirit of Vengeance respectively, onto General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross to combine with his alter ego, The Red Hulk. This combo comes together to take on Mephisto’s son, Blackheart, before he spreads his homeland to Earth from his operation in Las Vegas. So be careful not to kick the tires as we take this thing for a spin!
Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk has two point values to choose from, 250 and 200, so with either choice he will take up the majority of your team in the usual 300-point format. Before getting to the dial, we can see he has the Mystics team ability to vengefully bite back when he takes a hit, the Alien Symbiote trait granting him Plasticity and Shape Change, in addition to automatically breaking away from opposing characters. He has Improved Movement that ignores elevated and hindering terrain and character bases so walls and blocking terrain are the only thing that can get in his way when placing his two square long base. For keywords he has Circle of Four, Brute, Monster, and Mystical encapsulating the aspects of his three sources of power. He has no range value so you have to get close to hit; not a problem for this guy, and he also has Indomitable to ignore pushing damage so you get the most out of his hefty dial.
Speaking of, starting at 250 points you get 3 clicks of Charge, Super Strength and Invincible with high numbers in all of his combat values to get the game going in the right gear for your. On click #4, where Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk starts if you play him at 200 points, he has Hypersonic Speed, Impervious, and a special power on attack called Flaming Webbing that gives him a range value of 5 and two targets. Also when he hits with a ranged attack, instead of normal damage, each hit character gets an action token and 1 penetrating damage. For his last four clicks, he finishes off extra angry and extra crispy with Flurry, Poison, Invulnerability, and a damage special Feel Ourr Penance Punch, Punnk! that deals extra penetrating damage equal to the number of action tokens on a hit character after actions resolve. Remember he has Plasticity as a trait so that Poison can be really devastating with the two square sized base if you park the bike in the right place. If all of this alien infused, mystical feuled, gamma and cosmic ray bombarded dial isn’t enough for you, just look at that sculpt!
