Greetings WizKids Fans and Supporters!
So in the interest of letting the players know how the tourneys are going to run at Gen Con and what the prizes are going to be, it’s always good to have a little breakdown.
For players in the Worlds Championship events, there is a map menu for what maps you can use in these events. The maps are:

04 – Infinity Gauntlet Month 4 – The Garden

06 – Infinity Gauntlet Month 6 – the Collector’s Ship
07 – Infinity Gauntlet Month 7 – Mental Plane
08 – Infinity Gauntlet Month 8 – Shrine to Death
09 – Galactic Guardians – Blue Area of the Moon
10 – Galactic Guardians – Realm of Death
11 – Annihilators Fast Forces – Knowhere
12 – Annihilators Fast Forces – Alien City
13 – Incredible Hulk – Gamma Range
14 – Incredible Hulk – Shadowland
15 – Incredible Hulk: Fast Forces – Sakaar
16 – Incredible Hulk: Fast Forces – Gamma Base
17 – Battle for Smallville: Fast Forces – Smallville
18 – Battle for Smallville: Fast Forces – Bizzarro World
19 – Superman – Metropolis

This map menu is only for players in the Worlds Championship events, which includes the sealed and constructed grinders on Th/Fri, semi-finals on Sat, “last chance” grinder on Sat, and the Finals on Sunday. If you are playing in the other events during the course of GenCon, you can use any legal 2×3 map in those events.
Worlds Grinders will get the winner a seat at the World Semi-Finals on Saturday and his choice between 2 random figures from a pool of Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, and Venom and his opponent in the third round gets the other figure. This event lasts approximately 3 hours and the last event on Thursday and Friday will start no later than 9 PM on those days.
World Semi-Finals will get the top X players a prize from the Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, and Venom prize pool and a spot in the World Finals on Sunday. (X will be determined by the number of seats available in the Worlds Finals after seating has been given to the 2011 World Champion, 2012 National Champion, etc.)
Worlds “Last Chance” Grinder will get the top 4 players a prize from the Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, and Venom prize pool and the winner will get a spot in the World Finals on Sunday.
World Finals will get the winner a prize package to include designing your own figure in an upcoming set (subject to licensor and WizKids approval). In addition the winner will get a set of the 2012 Convention figures and other fabulous prizes including a factory set of Chaos War. The rest of the top 16 players from Worlds will get prizes from amongst the Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, and Venom prize pool.
Marvel Battle Royales will get the winner a random figure from a pool of Apocalypse, Punisher, and Venom. Since this event lasts 1 hour, the last event for the day will start no later than 11 PM on Thursday Saturday and 2 PM on Sunday.
DC Battle Royales will get the winner a random figure from a pool of Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, and Superman & Superman. Since this event lasts 1 hour, the last event for the day will start no later than 11 PM on Thursday-Saturday and 2 PM on Sunday.
The HeroClix Lord of the Rings events will get the winner a factory set of Lord of the Rings and the top half of the players a prize from a pool of Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, and Venom. Of note, this event is limited to only figures from the Lord of the Rings set.
The HeroClix Street Fighter Tag Team events will get the winner a factory set of Street Fighter and the top half of the players a prize from a pool of Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, and Venom. Of note, this event limits your team to 4 figures and no tactics other than standard objects in this format (this includes bystander tokens, special objects, resources, themed teams, etc.).
The HeroClix Star Trek Tactics events will get the winner a factory set of Star Trek Tactics and the top half of the players a prize from a pool of Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, and Venom. Of note, this event is limited to only figures from the Star Trek Tactics set.
The HeroClix Golden Age event will get the winner a Giant Man figure and the top half of the players a prize from a pool of Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, and Venom.
The HeroClix “Run the Gauntlet” 1-4 events will get the winner a set of the 2012 Marvel or DC convention figures and the top half of the players a prize from a pool of Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, Venom, and the Infinity Gauntlet monthly prizes.
The HeroClix “Run the Gauntlet” 5 event will get the winner a Thanos Colossal figure and the top half of the players a prize from a pool of Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate, Superman & Superman, Apocalypse, Punisher, Venom, and the Infinity Gauntlet monthly prizes. Of note, this event states that figures must be from the Incredible Hulk, Galactic Guardians, and/or Chaos War sets. Resources or special objects that do not come from these expansions are not allowed in this event.
Quarriors! events will get all of the players a promo card. Winners of the Semi-Finals will get a Quarriors! Rise of the Demons expansion and the Finals winner will get a Quarmageddon expansion.
In addition to the above prizes for the events, all players in a WizKids event will get a random Print and Play card as a participation prize. Please also remember that it’s while supplies last for the tourneys on each day of the convention.
